Raging Sky

Enter the Dragon
Aw no new friends

We left on a trip to go find some contact, and saw some very interesting trees along the way. Joe was trying to be sneeky so we made an attempt to copy his moves. Unfortunately it didn’t seem to work very well since everyone was watching us. Always watching us…

After hiking for a few hours we found some ruins and our mind turned to the thoughts of shinnies. Then the tree-man started talking to himself, it was kind of strange. Soon a bug man fell from the roof and started talking about dragons. Apparently he’s our new friend. We are very excited we have never had this many friends before! Hoping we could make even more friends we thought we could befriend the dragons since they are very wise creatures but the rest of our friends didn’t like that idea and wanted to kill them. We were not happy so we refused to go into their layer uninvited, we thought it was rude.

So the big angry one picked us up and dragged us into the ruins until we came up to what where we thought the dragons were and my new friends gave me a sun rod, and pushed me into the room to go talk to the dragon. So we tossed the head of the great goblin king of old as a offering of peace and respect into the dark cave and called out to the dragon. No one answered. We wandered around the room and stepped in some water and found our head of the great king and tossed it again and called out in peace. Still no answer, so we called back to our other friends that no one was here and the angry one followed me in. We found a big hole with some shinnies in it and the kind of dragon one of the 7 ran across the room to come see. Then some big dragons came out of the ground and started attacking us.

We tried to reason with it but it didn’t seem to want to listen. We even offered it the head of our great old king and it tossed it back. I thought it wanted to play but it bit me. It was such a lovely creature but we just couldn’t hurt it, except it was hurting our new friends so we tried to fry it, but couldn’t cuz we wanted to be friends but tried and couldn’t and tried, but our new friends. It made me sad.

Our friends killed the dragons and started hunting around for something. We dont know what it was, probably some kind of little bobble. They found the body of an even BIGGER dragon but it was dead, the Tree-man said it had probably been dead for a while. It made me more sad.

It is damp and wet down here, and one of us thinks that it’s going to get very dangerous soon, but she’s just paranoid.

Ground Assault

Krieg finally got a chance to get out of the cargo hold. Carrying boxes filled up the time, but it wasn’t what he was hired to do. He was hired to lead away parties, fight in the defense of the ship, and kill whatever was determined to be a threat. He’d almost missed the first fight, and had only arrived briefly to kill one goblin before they fled with the diplomat. His job after that was to get her back.

The tree’s spirit creature led them there. Krieg’s assault party was unusual. The ship didn’t have any soldiers. Rather, one random deckhand who’d fought well during the goblin’s assault, the tree person and his raven and wolf, the dragonborn, and that stowaway would be joining him. Whatever. Unusual or not, they could fight, and therefore they were coming along.

Following the goblin’s trail after their landing lead to a split in the path. The tree’s little raven spotted something along one of the paths, so they went that way first. A couple goblins were camped out at the end of the trail, wasn’t much of a fight. They got the wolf, but the rest of the group came out unharmed. The wolf could be summoned again, but they didn’t have the time to sit around and wait for the ritual to be completed, and the tree could track the goblins well enough on his own. Krieg ordered them to move on.

The other path led to a large cave, dark on the sides and with a trail of torches creating a path up to a large door on the opposite side. An obvious ambush. So Krieg and the deckhand lit up a pair of light rods and tossed them off into the shadows to see what was hiding out there. Barracades on raised ledges. Obvious hiding spots. Between the spirit creature and the stowaway, some of the amushers were revealed, including a large hobgoblin who seemed to be leading this. The stowaway and the deckhand went after one side, with a bunch of the weaker goblins, while Krieg hit the leader of the group, smashing it around and chasing off the goblins around it. It was hard to tell what was going on with the rest of the group, though the stowaway appeared to have made herself a target for all the archers in the room by wiping out a large number of their footsoldiers. The deckhand was making himself useful. The tree’s bear was floating around the hobgoblin, distracting it, hurting it and the other goblins around and generally being helpful.

Then the door started to open, and the dynamic of the fight started to shift.

Ambush in the Sky

The rag-tag crew of the airship Serenity set out in their new prototype ship, beginning their journies in the vast and shattered world. Among the crew are a deck swabbie who dreams of some day being a hero, an eccentric cook with a trio of animal companions, a deckhand with a taste for brutal justice, a traveling dragonborn sorcerer and a strange stowaway.
Their trip begins slowly and without event as the crew begin to get to know each other. Kreig the deckhand has a chance encounter with the stowaway, who says no words, only hushing him and scampering off to another part of the ship. Falan, the cook, keeps constant eyes on all parts of the ship with the aid of his animal companions, playing jokes and toying with the sorcerer, Kriv from time to time. As the strange crew meets and interacts with each other, Captain Kirkson and his first mate Vera Wind steer the ship onward to their destination.
A passenger also travels with them, an elven princess whom the young Joseph Carroway takes a fancy to and begins to chat with in an effort to learn more of her and her reclusive people. As the days go on there is little to note save for a strong storm that causes a change in course. Late on the third day, much of the crew rests below as Carroway and the princess stroll along the deck, none knowing what was barring down upon them.
With little warning, flying skiffs laden with goblins soar out of the growing darkness of the evening, boarding the ship and beginning their assault. Carroway fights to keep them off the princess as the rest of the crew rouses and begins their counterattack. The crew’s combat is erratic, having never fought together before, they stumble through the battle, gradually picking up a rhythm. Though they manage to fend off most of the goblins, they still don’t manage to keep the princess from capture and a lone goblin escaped with her on one of the skiffs before they can stop it.
Thankfully for the crew, the cook was able to track where the goblin took her with the aid of his spirit companion, giving them a lead on recovering her.

Damage Report

Minor damage suffered to the observation and command decks, caused by a burning concoction employed by the goblin raiders and crash landing skiffs. No other damage to report. Several casualties, two crewman suffered severe injuries and will be unable to resume their duties for some time while another suffered fatal burn wounds. His family will be informed personally upon our return by Capt. Kirkson. While unfortunate, his family will be the only one to receive this service in the coming years. We’ve undertaken a dangerous mission, and all the men and women aboard this ship know the risks, but I will strive to keep as many of them alive as possible.
